What is linolenic acid?
Linolenic acid (specifically alpha-linolenic acid, or ALA) is a polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acid classified as essential - the body cannot synthesize it and must obtain it externally. Raspberry seed oil (approximately 33% ALA), rosehip seed oil (approximately 33-38% ALA), and sea buckthorn seed oil (approximately 30-35% ALA) are among the highest omega-3 botanical oils available for topical use - making the cumulative linolenic acid contribution across the Sweet Chemistry system significantly larger than the free fatty acid listing alone would suggest.
